Rodney Prince

Rodney Prince is a seasoned strength and conditioning coach, currently serving on the University of Miami football strength staff. He joined the Hurricanes in 2022 after six years with the Georgia Bulldogs, where he contributed to their national championship-winning season in 2021. Prince has a wealth of experience from his time at Georgia, Louisville, and Marshall, and he is known for his technical expertise and commitment to developing both athletes and human character. A former defensive lineman at Mississippi State, Prince holds certifications from the CSCCa and NSCA.

CJ Stockel

C.J. Stockel is a seasoned educator and strength & conditioning coach with over 35 years of experience. Currently teaching weightlifting at Tallulah Falls School, he has also coached multiple sports, including football and track. In 2005, Stockel co-founded Team GA Weightlifting, achieving success at the Olympic trials and national championships. Several of his athletes have competed internationally for USA Weightlifting, and he has served on the USAW Board of Directors, including as Chairman. Stockel has been recognized as USA Weightlifting’s Developmental Coach of the Year twice and was inducted into the National High School Strength Coaches Hall of Fame in 2022.

Tripp and Chip Smith

Tripp and Chip Smith are the dynamic duo behind Hammer Smith Sports, a premier training facility known for developing elite athletes. Chip Smith, regarded as a pioneer in the field of sports performance training, founded the facility with a mission to provide athletes of all levels with cutting-edge conditioning, strength, and speed training techniques. James Davis

James is a physical therapist and strength and conditioning coach with more than 18 years of experience in the health and performance field. He combines his clinical and performance expertise to create well rounded programs to help athletes get bigger, faster, and stronger safely and effectively. James brings a varied background into his approach to training and uses the life lessons he has learned as a basketball player and coach, a high school and college educator, and as a business owner to build relationships that help athletes excel in competition and in life. 

James is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and licensed physical therapist, he has a master's degree in kinesiology, and he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach distinction. Additionally, he holds various advanced certifications in performance enhancement and manual therapy. He has worked in the NBA and owned and operated a training gym for 12 years. James is currently the Head Performance Coach at Overtime Elite where he is a part of the team responsible for the health, performance, and development of the OTE student-athletes.

Michael Bewley

Michael Bewley is the founder of Critical Reload, a leading sports nutrition company that focuses on fueling athletes for optimal performance. With extensive experience in strength and conditioning, Bewley has worked with top collegiate programs, helping athletes unlock their full potential through proper nutrition and training. In his session, “Top 6 Coaching Mistakes That Undermine Athlete Nutrition,” Michael shares crucial insights into how common coaching errors can hinder an athlete’s nutritional success and how to avoid them for peak performance.

JD Mehlhorn

JD Mehlhorn is an expert in strength and conditioning at Georgia State, specializing in performance training for intermediate-level athletes. In his presentation, “Potent Programming Methods for Developing Strength and Power in Intermediate Athletes,” JD offers effective training strategies designed to enhance strength and power in sports. With years of experience in performance coaching, he provides a deep dive into progressive programming techniques that drive athletic improvement.

Derek Groomer

Derek Groomer, who served as the head of baseball performance – sport science coordinator for national champion LSU in 2023, begins his first season on the Georgia staff of Ike Cousins head coach Wes Johnson.
 
Groomer will lead the Bulldogs sports performance program. He was a part of the Tigers staff that helped the program capture their seventh national title. The 2023 LSU team posted a 54-17 mark and had a school record 13 players selected in the Major League Baseball Draft including the first and second overall picks.

Prior to going to LSU, Groomer spent two years as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Alabama Birmingham, working with the Blazers baseball and volleyball programs. He spent part of 2020 assisting the TCU baseball program in strength and conditioning under the guidance of assistant athletic director of human performance Zach Dechant.
